NEWPORT NEWS, VA — Candidate from Governor Creigh Deeds was hosted by Rep. Bobby Scott in Newport News on Sunday. On hand were Molly Ward, Mamye BaCote, Mamie Locke, Joe Whitaker, Gary West, Jeion Ward and many others. Mark Warner was supposed to be there but was in Franklin dealing with the International Paper plant closing and 1,100 jobs disappearing — even though the plant was turning a profit. Anyway this will probably be one of the last big events for Deeds in Southern, Va., next to tonight’s rally in Norfolk at Old Dominion with President Obama.
