If it’s true that 53 members of Congress have signed a letter voicing strong opposition to the Blue Dog/Waxman deal this health care bill is in big trouble. At a 230 p.m press conference/rally featuring members of the Congressional Hispanic, Black and Asian Caucuses, Rep. Lynn Woolsey announced just that. The membership of those groups overlaps with the Progressive Caucus. When you ad it all together the total in opposition to HR 3200 spells mathematical trouble. Speaker Pelosi denied any real trouble at her weekly presser but it can’t be denied that CBC Chair Barbara Lee’s appearance front and center at today’s presser could not have possibly been a good thing.
