Dr. Donna Christensen, the delegate from the Virgin Islands and the only CBCer who is a medical doctor, had both her amendments inserted into HR 3200, the Health Reform Bill, last night during the House Energy and Commerce Committee markup. The first inserts language calling on the Secretary of Health and Human Services to eliminate health disparities. The second calls on the Secretary of Health and Human Services to select one of the U.S. territories as the location for a community based health program.
The other two Crew members on E&C, Bobby Rush and G.K. Butterfield, have not offered any amendments yet with (what looks like…) one more day of marking up to go.
