Sept 28, 2011 video flashback: How a one hour interview with Roland or Gwen? How about Jeff Johnson or Leroy Jones? Joe Madison? Off the record lunch yes. On the record hour… no. I wonder will there ever be a journo sitdown with April Ryan, Krissah Thompson, Jeff Johnson and Helene Cooper for an hour long interview just like the one in the video below. Latino journos Karina Medina, Jose Siade, Gabriel Lerner ask the President questions on 100% Latino issues. I wonder if there is Latino journo who hasn’t had a long Q&A chat with the President. It’s cool, obviously there’s nothing wrong with interviews with Latino journos but it is interesting to continuously note that the White House has time for some groups and not others… On Tuesday the President will “participate in interviews with local TV anchors from markets across the country” his schedule for next week says. I wonder who they will be. Below is an interview from Sept. that is part of an endless series with Hispanic journalists. One thing is sure: If you seek knowledge on every detail of policy regarding Hispanic issues and politics you have hours of video to review. (fyi: Scroll to 25mins into the video…)

Black ruling class, Stop whining. We the Black middle class know the game. Ptesident Obama is working hard to put roofs on our heads, food on our table and college education for our kids. He doesn’t need an interview to prove he understands our issues. He devoted his life to that since he graduated from Columbia. Stop backstabbing the President and being used by corporate media to derail his agenda. Remember it is not too late to primary each one of you with the help of OFA. Your constituents are 90% for this great President
I understand the President is perfect. Who would dare argue otherwise. But you appear to dodge the point of this post: If he can sit down for hours on end and communicate to one community why can’t he with another? Particularly when that community votes 93% for his party and is not doing all that well presently. … 46 million in poverty… 2.3 million behind bars (700,000 of whom are black)…. more Americans on food stamps than at any other time in U.S. history… less than half of black males graduating high school… 1.2 million kids dropping out in total … the black + white wealth gap bigger than it has been in 40 years…. Did anyone say all these things were his fault? Nope. Of course George W set this BS into motion… but there sure is plenty to talk about. I’ll stop whining when the stats get better. Just think: I’m only talking about TALK not action…. just a one hour interview. How dare we demand so much.
Nobody said the President was perfect. CBC members like Waters never had a serious opponent since the got their seat in Congress. They don’t know how to win a statewide or nationwide election. They go out badmouthing and second guessing the President just to put their face on TV. We have ZERO Black in the Senate. Why your hero members of CBC don’t run if they know how to navigate the political landscape?
How many interviews Bush gave to White Evangelicals? Are you assuming Blacks vote 90%+ for Obama but don’t know he understands their issues? I am sick and tired of the Professional Left that wants to make money trashing the President instead of using their time to help him help our people. I followed a link to this site that talked about the presidential action making a slave refuge a national landmark. Is Maxine Waters or Cleaver going to MSNBC to thank the President? NO. They will wait for the next “Obama neglects Black people” manufactured controversy to go on TV. 90%+ of Black people support the President but you won’t know it if you watch a Black person on TV (except Jammal Simmons). Explain that! You play it safe so you will be invited back and then you want to lecture Obama on how to govern.
My wife finished her college thanks to American Opportunity Act that helped us pay for her college. I don’t need an interview from Obama to know he is working hard for me
