Hastings to Host Breakfast for Black & Jewish Members of Congress

Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL), along with Representatives Henry Waxman, John Lewis, Eliot Engel, Al Green, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Marcia Fudge, Ted Deutch, Terri Sewell, and Frederica Wilson, will host an important breakfast for Black and Jewish Members of Congress on Wednesday, March 12th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in room HVC-200 of the Capitol Visitors Center.  The breakfast will include a discussion of the history of Black and Jewish relations, as well as how to increase engagement between these two communities.

Special guests at the event will include Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer, Rabbi Ari Sunshine of B’Nai Shalom Congregation, Reverend Robyn Franklyn-Vaughn of Howard University, and students from Operation Understanding D.C.
