On Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in the U.S. Capitol, Congressman Al Green will speak with reporters on impeaching President Trump.
Green is only one of two members of Congress who have called for the impeachment of President Trump. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has also called for Trump to be impeached.
Tomorrow, Green will draft specific articales of impeachment.
“I am drafting articles of impeachment based on obstruction of justice by President Donald J. Trump. The facts are simple and indisputable. The President fired the FBI Director because the Director was investigating the President’s campaign connections to Russian interference in the Presidential Election. This is obstruction of justice. This will continue to be obstruction of justice regardless of testimony given by Mr. James Comey.”
Former FBI Director Comey will testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday in what is expected to be blockbuster testimony.
“The question that only Congress can answer is whether the President can obstruct justice with impunity. The American people are watching. History is judging. The truth will prevail. Obstruction of justice by the President is the problem. Impeachment by Congress is the solution.”
Green received death threats for announcing he believed the President should be impeached a few weeks ago.
