New voter ID legislation is moving through the Missouri statehouse.Â Gov. Jay Nixon vetoed the last attempt to change the state voter ID laws.Â Clay and Sharpton were together last week to announce congressional support for Sharpton’s voter suppression march in Selma on March 4th.

In an interview, Clay said that in addition to Sharpton and other national activists and experts, “we’re inviting Gov. (Jay) Nixon, state legislators, panelists from the Brennan Center and the Justice Department to talk about voter protections, and how to combat this assault on voting rights.”
