JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. I was looking back over this past year on some of the more popular CREWof42 posts. Though health care took up tons of national media coverage, the issue of the year was clearly jobs. This is an interesting post regarding jobs from February 24, 2010. This post was a good illustration of that point:
Lee on Jobs: “They totally for the most part ignored us…”
CBC UNHAPPY WITH JOBS BILL. This morning, the Senate passed their $15 billion jobs bill, legislation members in general, and particularly CBCers, are unhappy with. The Congressional Black Caucus today met with Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis at their weekly Wednesday gathering. The portion of the meeting with Sec. Solis was relatively uneventful. Members expressed respect for Sec. Solis but are very unhappy with the legislation passed in the Senate this morning and the overall jobs picture in the U.S. In an interview with George Wilson of WHUR, Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Barbara Lee explains her feelings on the “jobs” bill passed today by the U.S. Senate.
