Frequent visitors to Haiti: Lee and Conyers

WASHINGTON DC — Rumor is that Ed Towns will lead a Congressional CODEL to Haiti next week. Towns, Greg Meeks, Yvette Clarke and Kendricak Meek perhaps have more Haitian Americans in their districts than perhaps any other members of the House.

Barbara Lee informed me yesterday that it’s smarter to wait and not, “get in the way,” rather than arrived early. Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus including John Conyers, Barbara Lee, and Kendrick Meek, have been on dozens of CODELs in the past to Haiti. Though it’s questionable as to how much good they can do in the early days of the crisis they may still travel and see for themselves.
