Emmett Till

Today was supposed to be the day that the memorial for Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr was to be dedicated on the national mall but Hurricane Irene prevented all that. Thanks to several APA fraternity events the week was not a total loss.  August 28th is also the anniversary of the death of Emmett Till, a case that kicked off the modern civil rights movement forwarded by Dr. King.  Till was murdered in Mississippi in 1955 for whistling at a white woman.
