The federal corruption trial of former Florida Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.) features several members of the U.S. House she has served with for decades.
A witness list from Brown’s attorney features Reps. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio). Former Rep. Brown’s daughter, lobbyist Shantrel Brown, is also on the witness list.
Brown’s trial begins in Jacksonville, Fla. on April 24.
Federal prosecutors allege that Brown used funds from a not for profit for personal use. The organization, One Door, appeared to be run primarily by Brown’s former longtime Chief of Staff, Ronnie Simmons. Simmons made a deal with the government on February 7, 2017.
