1PM MONDAY. As several Republicans object to changes in the bill regarding the Balanced Budget Amendment, members of the Congressional Black Caucus are holding their third meeting on the debt deal in less than a week. Many Democrats, including Emanuel Cleaver who called the deal “a sugar coated satan sandwich,” are unhappy with what they’ve seen so far as the details of the debt ceiling deal emerge. Though President Obama is urging everyone to support the deal, many in his own party are having a difficult time finding benefits in the deal for their constituents. The presser on the 14th amendment issue has been cancelled.
