DEMS PLANNING HOLDER PROTEST. House Democrats frustrated with what they feel has been different and unfair treatment toward Attorney General Eric Holder are planning a walk-out protest during tomorrow’s contempt vote. Vote walkouts have occurred before.
CBC Chairman Emanuel Cleaver confirmed that “an appropriate response” to the first contempt vote in American history was being planned. When Cleaver was asked when a final decision was being made on the protest he replied “in the morning.” But interestingly: Democrats other than CBC members are involved in the planned protest.
Some members are just hearing of the idea moments after returning to the House floor after an hour long ceremony from the first African American Marines ever inducted into the U.S. Marine Corp. Letters and other communications are being circulated now as Democrats try to figure out a way to combat Republican actions towards Eric Holder.
