Correction: Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is set to meet with members of the Black Caucus on Thursday. They are meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch today at their weekly meeting.
Sanders is set to introduce a bill that would ban private prisons in the federal prison system. The Black Caucus meets as a group every Wednesday at noon.
Sanders hit a bit of turbulence in his dealings with the demands of Black Lives Matter. The discussion with Sanders is likely to be legislative and not deeply political but obviously there will be more known after the meeting at about 2 p.m. today.
While Sen. Sanders, along with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) are routinely at the Capitol while off the campaign trail, another candidate for the White House who is usually not around, reality TV birther Donald Trump, will also appear on Capitol today.
