THE CBC IS AT THE HEIGHT of ITS POWER… …but you wouldn’t know it from looking at the Sunday political talk shows. Jim DeMint? No problem… Michele Bachmann? She’s on…. CBC Chair Barbara Lee gave Meet the Press it hasn’t had in months: An African American politician. The Sunday morning talk show “blackout…” was finally interrupted on Sunday with an appearance by Rep. Lee on Meet the Press. There has not been a black member of Congress on any of the Sunday talk shows, Meet the Press, Face the Nation, This Week, State of the Union and Fox News Sunday…but for one person, Jim Clyburn… in 2010. Since Congressional Black Caucus Chair Lee was the only member of Congress to vote agains the Iraq War you would think it would maker her a shoe in for any discussion on Iraq, Afghanistan and war in general.
