U.S. House Has Had 23 Moments of Silence Since 1996 on Gun Massacres

At a press conference announcing news legislation to make high capacity magazines illegal, Rep. Diana DeGette of Colorado said there have been “23 moments of silence” for the victims of gun massacres since she came to Congress in 1996.

There will be another one tonight for the 12 people who were shot in a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado last Friday.
