Two members of the Judiciary Committee, Reps Hank Johnson and Bobby Scott, addressed religious leaders from New York. The members if the clergy were members of the Bronx Clergy criminal Justice Roundtable. Their keynote speaker was the Senate chaplain, former Navy Admiral Barry Black.
Much of the talk at the gathering at the US Capitol centered around what will be released in President Obama’s gun violence plan. That plan is expected to be released on Wednesday. It will include background checks, an assault weapons ban proposal and a proposal to limit high capacity magazines.
Will prevention be a part of the president’s proposal?
