Trayvon Martin and Civil Law Suit Possibilities. An unarmed 16 year old is shot to death walking from 2-Eleven on February 26 by an unarmed man who exited his vehicle to follow him. Trayvon Martin is dead and he should not be.
No arrest? Did the police believe the shooter in a gun crime and don’t investigate? Police don’t drug test shooter but drug test the dead body of a shooting victim? Did the Sanford police fail to take pictures of George Zimmerman’s alleged injuries? Did police release Zimmerman from the scene and do not interrogate him at a police station?
Read this on the organized smear campaign on Trayvon Martin.
Civil lawsuit on George Zimmerman? Get Set to Find Out the Value of the Life of a Black male via a civil lawsuit. Today at 3pm the parents of Trayvon Martin, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, will be on Capitol Hill to discuss racial profiling and hate crimes. Will a discussion on a civil lawsuit against George Zimmerman enter into the discussion as well?
“The police took Zimmerman’s word as gospel and let him go…” an attorney friend of mine told me over the weekend. Though no attorney I spoke with has a direct connection to the Trayvon Martin case, and four were relatives of mine, I spoke with 14 attorney’s in all. The ages ranged from 26 to 62. Two were in Florida. One went to Harvard Law another to Georgetown another to Texas Southern’s
Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Their views regarding a civil case in the case of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin was quite interesting.
Three attorney’s made the following point and one crystallized it by saying this: “They were in a gated community? Who gave Zimmerman permission to patrol there? Did they know of his patrols? If so, did they know he had a firearm?”
SUE FLORIDA? Can Trayvon Martin’s parents sue the State of Florida for wrongful death because of the “stand your ground” law? Most of the attorney’s in my unofficial poll said no. Three said they may not be able to sue Florida but they should sue the City of Sanford.
Did the condo or homeowners association know of Zimmerman’s patrols? They should definitely sue the homeowners association almost everyone said. The questions in court that could make them liable for Trayvon Martin’s death are: Did the police know of Zimmerman’s patrols. Zimmerman phoned the police 46 times in 13 months isn’t it likely they were aware of his cop wanna-be activity?
Information leaked by the Sanford Police Department, in a clear attempt to make Zimmerman look like the victim, inadvertently re-confirms the following regarding the Sanford Police — an attorney relative of mine noted in conversation today:
1. The Sanford Police Department would appear to have taken Zimmerman’s word for what occurred and,
2. They allegedly failed to interrogate Zimmerman in a thorough manner given the crime and.
3. They allegedly failed to make an effort to canvas the area and discover who the murder victim was which is evidenced by his body remaining in a morgue for three days…
Also: The current prosecutor on Trayvon Martin’s murder is Angela Corey who is a friend of Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee. The Department of Justice is investigating the circumstances surrounding Martin’s murder as well but has a very high bar to jump. Yesterday, the Sanford police department leaked information damaging to the murder victim and helpful to George Zimmerman’s rendition events. Does anyone believe that a criminal case against Zimmerman will a success under these circumstances?
