CBC Holds 2nd “Emergency” Meeting on Fiscal Cliff

Many CBC members are leaning “no” on the fiscal cliff legislation passed by the Senate early this morning. As a possible late vote takes shape tonight, a surprising number of members are voicing concerns.

Many members are unhappy with the lack of communication on details of the cliff deal beforehand. Others are unhappy about there being no payfor. Still others are not thrilled about a process that makes it difficult for members to know what they are voting for.

Members of the CBC are in an “emergency meeting” in the Capitol now. Rep. Chris VanHollen is in attendance to persuade them to support the bill.
