Yesterday several groups stood in opposition against Michael Boggs including the Lawyers Committee and NARAL. Georgia Rep. David Scott has led the charge in the House against Boggs’ nomination.

Yesterday, Rep. Scott pointed out that not one Georgia Democrat supports Boggs’ lifetime appointment to the federal bench.  On Monday, Scott blasted President Obama’s nomination on the Tom Joyner Morning Show calling it “shameful.”  He added that it was embarrassing that such a nomination would be made by America’s first Black President.
