Forget the trip to St. Maartens, let’s talk about the two most senior members of the Congressional Black Caucus and ethics. For John Conyers, it really has nothing directly to do with him. His wife Monica will be sentenced on Thursday, March 11, 2010, after pleading guilty to accepting a bribe in exchange for pushing a sludge contract with a company from Houston, Texas. She could get five years.
In the case of Charlie Rangel everyone just needs to keep their eyes open. I have a difficult time believing that the House Ethics Committee could take much longer to conclude there is House rules violation in Rangel’s case. He already essentially admitted that he screwed up when he submitted financial disclosure forms last
year acknowledging $700,000 in income unreported the year before. The only issue left to figure out is whether they will punish Rangel and whether the punishment will trigger his removal as Chairman of House Ways and Means.
With the House out of session next week after only working a three day week get ready for something this Thursday. The House Ethics Committee has an uncanny habit of making announcements right before the House has a break. Their last two announcements, or rather web postings telling us what they are up to, have come down just before recesses.

If they are going to clean house, why don’t start with WALL STREET,and all the crooks still hanging around President Obama’s administration, who caused hostility around the world!
