Legendary New York politician Charlie Rangel has agreed to temporarily give up the gavel at Ways and Means. Charlie Rangel: “From the very, very beginning I have offered this to Speaker Pelosi,” he said. That’s interesting because last night Rangel told all who would listen that nothing had changed.
So the question now becomes: Who is next? Will legendary civil rights leader John Lewis be the next Chairman of Ways and Means? Tonight Lewis is having a big birthday party fundraiser — what a gift that would be. House Ways and Means has a hearing at 10:30 a.m. Who will Chair that hearing?
